e-Statements

Peoples State Bank offers delivery of account statements in electronic or paperless format as an alternative to having your statements mailed to you on a monthly or quarterly basis. You retrieve your account statements using our secure website instead of waiting on the postman to leave it in your mailbox. There are a number of advantages to using this service instead of the traditional printed statements:

  • Early Access to Your Statement - The moment that your e-Statement is prepared, you will receive an e-mail notification that it is available for online viewing and downloading. There's no delay for printing or delivery a few days later by the postal service. You will always receive your e-Statement before you would a regular statement.
  • Reduced Exposure to Identity Theft - An e-Statement can't get lost in the mail, mis-delivered to a nosy neighbor, or stolen from a mailbox while you're at work or away for the weekend.
  • Unlimited Availability - Up to 12 months of your statements are available online wherever you have internet access so you can manage your accounts anyplace and anytime you want to.
  • Greater Organization - Eliminate the clutter of paper bank statements stored on shelves or in boxes. Many years of statements can be securely stored on a CD-ROM and extra copies can easily be printed if needed.
  • Go Green the Easy Way - e-Statements eliminate paper, printing chemicals, transportation, and landfill wastes to help reduce your impact on the environment.
  • It's Free - Take advantage of this great service at no cost to you!

Simply complete and sign the form and send it us or drop it by one of our offices (be sure to read the front and back of the form and keep a copy for yourself). If you like, just visit one of our locations and we'll be happy to explain everything to you in person and help you enroll or you can call us at (386) 754-0002 with any questions.

If you decide that e-Statements just aren't for you, you can always switch back to the regular printed statements. What is an e-Statement?
An e-Statement is an electronic version of your account statement in the Adobe Acrobat format including check images. You can view and print your statement right from your computer, avoid the delay of postal delivery, and reduce paper clutter.

Will I get images of my checks just like the regular statements?
Our e-Statements look exactly the same as our regular printed statements including the check image page(s) along with the form to help reconcile your statement to your check register.

Will I be able to print my statement and check images?
Yes. Once you open the e-Statement you will be able to print it just like you print any document on your computer.

Can I save my e-Statement for future reference?
You can save them on the computer that you are using to access the statements. However, be sure to save them in a secure location and not on a publicly used computer such as at the library or at school.

How will I know when my e-Statement is ready?
As soon as the account statement for your checking or savings account is prepared, an e-mail will be sent to notify you that it is available for you to access using the secure website.

Are Savings Account statements on the e-Statement service?
Yes, e-Statements are an option for all checking and savings account statements.

Are e-Statements secure?
Yes, the e-Statements are not sent delivered by e-mail but are retrieved by customers from a secured site with a personal Username and Password. Contrast this with a printed statement being handled prior to mailing, sent through the postal facilities at the shipping and receiving end. One then relies on mailperson placing the statement in the correct mailbox, never mis-sorting an item or putting it in the wrong box.

Do I need any special software to access e-Statements?
In order to utilize the e-Statement product, you must have a valid, active e-mail address, a personal computer, a valid web browser (i.e. Internet Explorer, or Firefox, ect.), and the free Adobe® Acrobat® Viewer 5.0 or higher. We recommend that you have current anti-virus protection on your computer and protect it from unauthorized use if you will be storing your monthly statements on it.

Can I change my password?
Yes, we recommend that you immediately change the password the first time you logon to the e-Statement system and then change it periodically thereafter.

What should I do if I forget or lose my password?
Please visit one of our offices or call us at (386) 754-0002 and one of our customer service representatives will assign a new password for you to use.

What happens if I change my e-mail address?
In order for us to notify you when the statements become available, we'll need to have a current e-mail address at all times. If you change your e-mail address, please notify us at least 10 days before your statement usually becomes available.

How much time do I have to retrieve my e-Statement?
Your e-Statement will remain in the system for up to 12 months. However, you should always examine your account statements as soon as possible to check for any transactions you may have failed to note in your checkbook register along with any possible errors or mistakes on your account. There are certain deadlines for identifying and reporting errors, so you'll want to examine your statements each month in a timely manner.

Is there a charge for e-Statements?
There is no charge or monthly fee to change from paper statements to e-Statements.

Can I receive both e-Statements and regular paper statements for my account?
Account statements can be sent in paper form or made available as an e-Statement but cannot be sent by both methods at the same time.

If I don't like e-Statements, how do I change back to paper statements?
You can sign the "Discontinue e-Statements" portion of the enrollment form, come by one of our locations and ask to change back, or call us at (386) 754-0002 and one of our customer service representatives will assist you.

Will I have to pay a fee to switch back to paper statements?
For most of our customers, there would be no charges or fees to switch to paper statements. However, there are some checking account products which specify that e-Statement system is required. Customers with those accounts (i.e.: Peoples eFree Checking) would need to change to another account type to receive paper statements.

If I need a paper copy of a statement which is no longer available online, how may I obtain it?
Call us or visit one of our offices to request a copy of an older statement. If you have been using the e-Statement system for 12 months or longer, there is no charge to receive a copy of a single statement.
